Local Area and Attractions
Nambucca Heads is a coastal holiday centre in a subtropical climate.
The town is located on a ridge which runs out to a headland at the
mouth of the Nambucca River, 26 metres above sea-level and 512 km
north of Sydney. Visitors quickly discover the unspoilt natural
beauty of Nambucca including the safe beaches, wide waterways and
tranquil streams, lush farmlands and sweeping forests of the hinterland.
There are breathtaking views from local lookouts especially Yarrahapinni
Lookout, which commands one of the most impressive coastal panoramas
in the state. The Vee Wall Breakwater at the Nambucca River entrance
has become a giant outdoor gallery for graffiti artists. Artistic
endeavours are now encouraged and lovers, believers, families and
visitors return year after year to preserve their efforts.
History tells us once you have visited the Nambucca Valley, you
will return annually. The present population is a cross section of
families who have enjoyed the Nambucca experience and made this unique
coastal town their home.
